226 people were injured in accidents involving A-tractors between January and July this year. This is a decrease of 17 percent compared to the same period last year.

The number of A-tractors continues to increase in Sweden. At the turn of the year 2023-2024, there were 56,000 registered vehicles, and by August, the figure had increased by an additional 1,500 vehicles.

"It is positive that the number of accidents is not following the increasing trend of more A-tractors. The largest decrease is noted among minor accidents," says Khabat Amin, statistician at the Transport Agency, in a press release.

The reason for the decrease may be due to the new rules that came into effect at the end of August last year, according to Amin. These included requirements for seatbelts and winter tires, as well as space for all passengers.

For the first time, the number of personal injury accidents involving electric scooters is also decreasing. A total of 1,713 accidents occurred during the first seven months of the year, involving at least one electric scooter. This is a decrease of 13 percent compared to the same period last year.
