The dispute has, according to the newspaper, briefly been about whether the tenant should be forced to leave or be allowed to stay with the same rights as a first-hand tenant – despite being terminated.
The tenant has referred to the Supreme Court's practice and claimed that he has paid over-rent for the apartment, which he alleges was part of a straw man scheme aimed at benefiting the property owner.
According to the verdict from the Stockholm District Court, the tenant has the same rights in relation to Zlatan and Helena Seger as he would have had if they had let the apartment directly to him.
The same day, the Ibrahimovic/Seger couple appealed the district court's verdict to the Court of Appeal. They want, among other things, to hear the former property owner in the Court of Appeal.
It is now clear that the Court of Appeal has granted leave to appeal in the case.
