Zelensky refers to satellite images and video clips and says that it should now be obvious to everyone that North Korea's dictator Kim Jong Un has sent military personnel to Russia.
We expect a normal, honest, and strong reaction from our partners on this, says Zelensky in his evening speech on Sunday, and warns about what Russia might give North Korea in exchange:
Unfortunately, instability and threats can grow significantly as North Korea begins to learn modern warfare.
Zelensky further warns that the war in Ukraine may be prolonged if Russia reinforces with both manpower and weapons from the closed country.
In fact, this is another state joining the war against Ukraine.
Last week, South Korea's intelligence agency NIS reported that North Korea had decided to send 12,000 soldiers, including special forces, to Russia's invasion war. The agency published satellite images allegedly showing how a first group of 1,500 soldiers was sent to Russian Vladivostok.
On Monday, Seoul summoned the Russian ambassador to express its criticism and demand that the North Korean soldiers be recalled.
During the meeting, the Russian ambassador emphasized, according to a statement from the embassy, that "cooperation between Russia and North Korea is not directed against South Korea's security".
North Korea has previously delivered significant amounts of weapons to Russia, including grenades and rockets.
