YouTube's former CEO Susan Wojcicki has passed away. She was 56 years old, reports American media.
She was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago, writes her husband Dennis Troper in a statement on Facebook.
Wojcicki, who had a key role in the formation of Google, was CEO of YouTube for nine years before leaving the post last year.
"Today, after almost 25 years at the company, I have decided to take a step back from my role as CEO of YouTube and start a new chapter where I focus on my family, health, and personal projects that I am passionate about", she said then in a statement.
