Mikael Ymer writes on Instagram that he didn't want to say anything during last week's meeting, out of respect for his teammates.
"With that said, it wasn't a fun atmosphere for me since I grew up in a culture where you're supposed to back your brother in all situations, and if I hadn't been playing for Sweden that week, I would never have set foot on the royal court", he writes.
Elias Ymer was dropped from Sweden's team because he wanted to bring his own coach, which conflicted with the team's established rules.
Mikael Ymer repeats twice that the post is written "with all respect" towards national team captain Simon Aspelin, but adds:
"I tried to talk to Simon during the week and explain that I (and what I believe other players on the team) don't have any problem with my brother bringing his coach and that ultimately, the most important thing is that we win the match as long as we don't disrespect anyone along the way. And I don't think what Elias asked for was in any way disrespectful towards anyone."
Australia quickly decided the DC match at the Royal Tennis Hall by winning the first three matches.
