Six people, including four children, have been injured in an attack on a polio vaccination center in Gaza, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

Extremely alarming reports have reached WHO that the center in northern Gaza was hit on Saturday while parents were taking their children there, according to WHO's Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on X without going into who is behind the attack.

He writes that the incident occurred in an area where a humanitarian pause had been agreed upon to allow vaccination.

A representative for Gaza's civil defense has accused Israel of being behind the attack, which is denied by Israel's military (IDF):

"Contrary to what is claimed, an initial review has shown that IDF did not strike the area at the specified time."

WHO resumed the second round of vaccinations in northern Gaza on Saturday after previously being forced to stop them due to Israeli attacks.
