Viveca Sten, Sara Strömberg, and Mari Jungstedt are among the nominees for the award for the year's Swedish crime writer, which will be presented at the book fair in Gothenburg at the end of the month.
Ninni Schulman, Pascal Engman, and Kristina Ohlsson also have a chance to receive the award, which is based entirely on the list of authors who are most popular on the e-book service Bookbeat.
There will be a new winner this year. Of the five times the award has been presented previously, it has gone to Sofie Sarenbrant three times. In addition, Lars Kepler has been awarded two distinctions.
Sofie Sarenbrant is, however, nominated for the award for the year's Swedish crime novel, for "Långfredagen", written together with Carina Bergfeldt.
The other nominees for the year's Swedish crime novel are "Döda kvinnor förlåter inte" by Katarina Wennstam, "Vilseledaren" by Viveca Sten, "Käraste Lena" by Ninni Schulman, "Den sista utposten" by Mari Jungstedt, and "Bestseller" by Pascal Engman.
The awards will be presented on September 28 during the Crimetime festival at the book fair.
