The Olympic Games in Paris were inaugurated in the rain. When the Olympic flame was extinguished more than six weeks later in the French capital, after the Paralympics had also been decided, it was of course raining.
The Swedish flag bearers at the closing ceremony at Stade de France were Paralympic veterans Emil Andersson, the table tennis player who was participating for the fourth time, and judoka Nicolina Pernheim, who won her first medal in the Games 16 years after her debut.
As expected, the closing ceremony had a grand finale with fireworks and fire.
