Bombs, guidance systems, and fuses for 6.75 billion dollars have been approved. In addition, the green light has also been given for the sale of Hellfire rockets worth 660 million dollars.
The total value of the arms package is equivalent to approximately 74 billion Swedish kronor.
The transactions must, however, first be approved by Congress, which is not expected to block the deliveries.
The announcement comes after President Donald Trump lifted a ban on delivering 900-kilogram bombs to Israel at the end of January. The deliveries had previously been stopped by predecessor Joe Biden, in an attempt to prevent Israel from using them in densely populated areas in Gaza. The bombs have already been sent.
A large part of the weapons used by Israel in the Gaza war have been American-made.
