The USA announces that a military support package will be sent to Ukraine, primarily ammunition.
The value of the material shipment amounts to 1.7 billion dollars, equivalent to approximately 18.4 billion kronor. The support primarily concerns ammunition, focusing on, among other things, the Ukrainian air defense. Kiev has long appealed for additional ammunition.
Material worth 200 million dollars will be taken from the US military's own stockpiles. Orders worth 1.5 billion dollars will be placed with the arms industry.
So far, the USA and the country's defense department have contributed around 55 billion dollars, equivalent to 595 billion kronor, in military material to Ukraine since Russia launched the invasion war in February 2022.
