Around 700 people have been arrested since the pro-Palestinian group Palestine Action was labeled as a terrorist organization in the UK in early July, including 522 people who demonstrated in sympathy with the banned group last weekend.

At least 60 of them will be brought to court for having "shown support" for the group and more prosecutions are expected.

People need to be aware of the real-life consequences for anyone who chooses to support Palestine Action, says Stephen Parkinson, head of the prosecution authority in England and Wales.

Three people have previously been prosecuted for crimes committed under terrorism legislation after supporting the pro-Palestinian group at a demonstration.

According to the police, those accused of that type of crime can risk up to six months in prison.

Palestine Action was banned in July after the group broke into a military airbase in southern England and caused millions in damages to two aircraft.
