The USA is to have emphasized the need to ensure a stable and sustainable staffing of the American embassy in Moscow, and highlighted problems with access to banking services in the country, according to a statement from the American Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which also states that a new meeting will take place shortly.
Thursday's meeting followed after the USA's Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met in Saudi Arabia on February 18, where they both promised to re-establish the countries' diplomatic ties.
The meeting broke the Western world's sharp distancing from Russia since President Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion war against Ukraine three years ago.
