The USA, together with British forces, has carried out airstrikes against 15 military targets in Yemen belonging to the Houthi movement. This is confirmed by the US military command for the Middle East, Centcom, in a post on X.
The statement comes after a Houthi-controlled TV channel reported on attacks against at least three Houthi-controlled cities.
The attack took place after a week in which the Houthi movement claimed to have attacked Israel several times with drones sent towards, among other places, Tel Aviv. On Sunday, Israeli bomber planes attacked several locations in Yemen.
The Houthi movement is allied with both Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah. During the Gaza War, it has shelled Israel from Yemen on several occasions and attacked ships in the waters off Yemen when they were deemed to have some kind of Israeli connection.
