The 66-year-old German politician leads the EU Commission for a second term, but begins the new year by working from her home in Hannover, announces her office in Brussels.
Among upcoming commitments was a trip to Lisbon, Portugal, as well as holding a speech when Poland takes over the presidency of the EU from Hungary. The formal inauguration of Poland's presidency, which lasts for half a year, takes place in Gdansk.
Ursula von der Leyen's keynote speech in connection with Poland's presidency is to be held at some point in the future, according to her office.
Ursula von der Leyen, who previously served as a minister in German governments, has been the President of the EU Commission since December 1, 2019.
