The leading stock exchange indexes on the Tokyo Stock Exchange were up in Wednesday morning trading, while the stock exchanges in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and South Korea are closed for the weekend.
The Nikkei 225 index was up 0.7 percent, which was also the notation for the Topix index.
