Israel has deliberately destroyed Gaza's healthcare system "as part of a broader attack on Gaza", writes the UN's independent international investigative commission in a statement.
Furthermore, the investigators state that the country "commits war crimes" and "crimes against humanity" when it intentionally targets medical personnel and facilities.
The report also points to abuses against Palestinian prisoners in Israel and those held hostage by the terrorist-stamped Hamas in Gaza – and accuses both Israel and armed Palestinian groups of "torture" and sexual and gender-based violence.
The investigative commission was established by the UN Human Rights Council in May 2021 to investigate alleged violations of international humanitarian law in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
The investigators demand that hostages held by Hamas must be released immediately.
This is the second report published after Hamas' terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
However, it is not the first time the UN has accused Israel of serious crimes. Already in the first report, which came in June, the investigators concluded that both Israel and the Palestinian factions it is fighting in Gaza have violated the laws of war.
The report also found that Israel has committed crimes against humanity in both Gaza and the West Bank.
