Ghana's Minister of Defence and the country's Environment Minister have died in a helicopter crash, according to the presidential office.
"The President and the Government extend their condolences and participation with the families of our friends and the military who died while serving the country", says the President's chief of staff in a statement.
Five passengers and three crew members were on board the helicopter when it disappeared from the radar on Wednesday, reports the military. All were killed.
Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed and Edward Omane Boamah were appointed Environment and Defence Ministers this year by the country's president John Mahama. Boamah has previously been, among other things, Minister of Communications.
