Ukraine has destroyed one of the Russian military's transport planes, announces the Ukrainian military's intelligence service.
The plane, a Tupolev Tu-134, was set on fire over the weekend in the Orenburg region in southern Russia, about 100 miles from the Ukrainian border. It was completely destroyed in the fire, reports Kyiv Independent.
"Such planes from the Soviet era are specifically used to transport the leadership within the Russian Defense Ministry", writes the intelligence service on Telegram, where they have published pictures from the fire.
Russia has not commented on the incident.
Ukraine has increased the number of attacks on Russian territory in recent months, with the aim of destroying Russia's military logistics.
