Two men are being prosecuted for the murder of a 29-year-old man in Umeå, according to the Prosecution Authority.
The crime took place during the night of October 9 last year. The man was found seriously injured outdoors in the Mariehem area of Umeå.
The man was stabbed 22 times with a sharp object, likely a knife. He also suffered head injuries due to blunt violence and died at the hospital due to bleeding.
"Based on witness statements and what the murder victim himself managed to say before he died, much suggests that there were two perpetrators. I assess that the evidence is strong enough for me to expect a guilty verdict," says Chamber Prosecutor Edvard Breitholtz, who is the lead investigator, in a press release.
The two men have been detained since June this year. Both deny the crime.
