Two men in their 20s died and three men were injured when a car went off the road and into a tree on the Onsala peninsula outside Kungsbacka on Saturday evening.

The three men being treated in hospital are in their 25s.

One is being treated for serious injuries, while the injuries of the other two are minor, but they are still being treated in hospital, says August Brandt, the police's press spokesperson in Region West.

It is too early to say what may have caused the accident, according to the police.

We need to investigate that aspect, says August Brandt.

The incident is being investigated as gross negligence in traffic.

That is a classification that may change, as it is an early stage, says August Brandt.

We will need to conduct a technical examination of the car and gather more information through interviews and see if there are any other witnesses.

The alarm about the accident came in at 20.30 on Midsummer's Day.

Due to the accident, Kungsbacka Municipality's support group will set up a meeting point at Vallda church on Sunday.

Lisa Andersson (The Moderate Party) is the chairman of the municipal council in Kungsbacka.

It's dreadful, you think of the relatives. Getting that call is a parent's worst nightmare. My thoughts are naturally with the family and loved ones, says she.
