Two people have been arrested after a suspected dangerous object was found at Stockholm Central Station. According to Aftonbladet, they were caught with a thermos bomb in a bag.
The two, a man and a woman between 30 and 40 years old, are suspected on probable grounds of violating the law on flammable and explosive goods, gross crime, and preparation for gross general endangerment.
"The suspects will be questioned today together with their public defenders. Only after these interrogations have been held do we expect to have a clearer picture of the case," writes prosecutor Carolina Frohm in a press release on Thursday.
Telling TT, the woman's defense attorney Henrik Olsson Lilja says her stance on the suspicions is clear.
My client denies the crime, he says.
The suspected man also denies the crime.
But I cannot comment on anything else, says his defender Olle Liljefri.
According to Henrik Olsson Lilja, the prosecutor has requested that the two be detained.
We believe that she will be released sooner or later, he says.
It was late on Wednesday afternoon when Stockholm Central Station was evacuated and the police's bomb technicians were called in. An object was seized for further investigation and the two suspects were arrested.
According to Aftonbladet's sources, the suspects had been given the task of delivering the thermos bomb to a location in northern Sweden.
