A man in his 65s has died in connection with a drowning accident at a bathing place outside Haparanda municipality, the police write on their website.
The alarm came from witnesses who saw the man swimming in the lake and then disappear. The rescue service then found the man dead in the water.
There is no suspicion of crime in connection with the incident.
