Donald Trump takes home the swing state Nevada with six electoral votes, reports NBC News. This means the Republican is officially over 300 electors – currently 301 against Kamala Harris' 226.
Both in 2016 and 2020, Trump lost Nevada to the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden respectively. Since then, the Republicans have increased in popularity among, among others, Latin American voters in the state.
During the election campaign, Trump made several stops in the entertainment metropolis Las Vegas and pushed hard on his promises of abolished taxes on tips – in a state where many work in the entertainment and tourism industry.
Only in one state – Arizona, with eleven electors – is the vote count still ongoing. Trump is in the lead, according to AP.
