The President of the United States, Donald Trump, says that he is revoking his predecessor Joe Biden's security clearance, which gives former presidents the right to access sensitive information even after they have left office.
"There is no need for Joe Biden to continue to have access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden's security clearance and stopping his daily intelligence briefings", Trump writes on his platform Truth Social and adds, in capital letters: "JOE, YOU'RE FIRED."
Biden did the same to Trump after the storming of the Capitol and in connection with Trump being accused of trying to overturn the 2020 election result. Biden then motivated his decision by saying that Trump's "unpredictable" behavior was an obstacle to allowing him to access sensitive information.
