I believe that a bigger problem is internal enemies, more than the people who come to us to destroy our country, said Trump in an interview with the TV company Fox News on Sunday.

The response followed a question about what development Trump expects after the election day in the USA on November 5. President Joe Biden said last week that he expects a "free and fair election", but that he is not sure that the development will be "peaceful".

Trump chose to turn the question around:

We have some really nasty people, some really sick people, radical left-wing extremists. I believe that they /.../ should be taken care of by – if necessary – the national guard or, if necessary, the military, said Trump in the interview with the conservative TV company.

A spokesperson for the opponent Kamala Harris, Ian Sams, responded quickly:

Donald Trump suggests that American citizens are worse "enemies" than our foreign opponents, and that we should deploy the military against them.
