In the latest round of decisions from Donald Trump, it's been the turn of the in-laws.
The father-in-law of Trump's daughter Tiffany, businessman Massad Boulos, is to become the envoy with contacts in the Middle East and the Arab world. Boulos, of Lebanese origin, has previously supported Trump in contacts with Muslim groups in the USA.
On Saturday, Trump announced that he wants to see his daughter Ivanka's father-in-law Charles Kushner as the US ambassador in Paris. Charles Kushner is, like Donald Trump, a real estate magnate primarily in New York and New Jersey. Kushner has been convicted in federal court for tax fraud and retaliation against witnesses and perjury before the US Electoral Commission. He was pardoned by Trump in 2020.
However, Charles Kushner's son Jared, married to Ivanka, has said that he will not be part of the upcoming administration. Jared Kushner was Trump's adviser and special envoy to the Middle East during Trump's first presidential term 2017-2021.
