The town hall in Gustavsberg in Värmdö outside Stockholm was evacuated after a false bomb threat on Tuesday afternoon.

The police and rescue services were alerted to the scene at 15:30, but after about an hour, the operation could be cancelled.

The threat is considered unserious, says acting communications chief Anette Niska-Andersson.

The false threat was made over the phone via the municipality's switchboard.

The fire alarm went off and everyone calmly and quietly exited, says Anette Niska-Andersson.

The police are categorizing the incident as unlawful threats against a group and are investigating who made the threatening call.

On Monday, the adjacent Värmdö housing office was evacuated after a warning about a suspected dangerous object, which later turned out to be harmless. However, the events are not connected to each other, according to the communications chief.
