World Championship gold was the 32-year-old's 23rd in her career and second in this week's championship after winning the middle distance on Wednesday. On Thursday, Tove Alexandersson took silver on the long distance.

The gold meant that she equaled the Swiss Simone Niggli in the number of World Championship golds. Niggli ended her career in 2013.

It doesn't really mean that much. I don't look back that much, but am mostly in the present and focus forward. Of course, it's incredibly cool, but I think it's dangerous to get stuck too much in the past, she says to SVT.

Sweden's victory in Saturday's women's relay was superior. Hanna Lundberg arranged a lead of ten seconds on the first leg. Sanna Fasth extended it to 2.28 after the second leg, despite running wrong at a turn.

"It was very clumsy"

It was very clumsy, she says to SVT.

The margin of victory was 2.28 to Norway and 4.00 to Switzerland. The trio that secured three Swedish medals on the middle distance thus took gold together. They ran to the finish line together with the Swedish flag on Alexandersson's final leg.

Hanna and Sanna ran fantastically, so it was just a matter of managing the position they gave me, she says.

"Blows it"

In the men's relay, Sweden – Martin Regborn (World Championship silver medalist in long distance), Emil Svensk and Max Peter Bejmer – finished fifth but was disqualified after Bejmer on the final leg stamped at the wrong control.

You blow this trust you've been given and blow it for your teammates, he says to SVT.

Norway took gold, Switzerland silver and Finland bronze.

In a year, the World Championship will be held in Genoa, Italy, with sprint distances.
