Up to 50,000 tickets to Oasis' reunion tour will be invalidated, writes BBC, as part of the fight against inflated prices. These tickets will then be made available again through the official sales site, Ticketmaster, at the original value.
More than ten million fans from 158 countries queued, and a total of 1.4 million tickets were sold to the brothers' tour in the UK. Shortly after, many of them appeared on other sites at heavily inflated prices.
"All parties involved in the tour continue to urge fans not to buy tickets from unauthorized websites, as some of these may be fake and others may be withdrawn", says a spokesperson for Live Nation and SJM.
They urge fans who have their tickets incorrectly withdrawn to get in touch.
Resale of tickets is legal in the UK.
