The premiere takes place in Luleå on February 1, followed by competitions in Gothenburg, Västerås, Malmö, and Jönköping. The final will take place as usual in Stockholm.
All municipalities have hosted Melodifestivalen before. Västerås and ABB arena welcome their second competition in history, the last time being 2008. Jönköping has waited a bit longer – the last time was when they hosted the tour premiere in 2007.
"Since our goal is always to visit the entire country, we are thrilled that Melodifestivalen 2025 is returning to Luleå, Västerås, and Jönköping. We promise to offer both the audience on site and viewers fantastic entertainment and an exciting competition", says the competition's project manager Anders Wistbacka in a press release.
New for next year is that SVT has tweaked the Final Qualification moment. Only five entries will compete in the collection instead of ten as before. SVT also plans to release the songs before the competitions.
