+ New hosts:
This year, the old host is instead one of the participants. David Lindgren has been replaced by Pär Lernström and Johanna Nordström. Maybe there will be a bit more humor in the chat between the dances.
+ New jury members:
Only Tony Irving remains from the old jury. He is still the jury's chairman – but now has company from professional dancer Taya Shawki and artist Eric Saade, himself a former "Let's dance" winner.
+ New qualification system:
This year, there will be competition from the start, unlike previous years when no dancers were eliminated in the first program. The season starts with three pre-recorded qualification programs, where two pairs are eliminated in each.
In the qualification programs, three out of five participants advance. In addition, the jury gets to choose a finalist among the eliminated. Thus, ten participants remain when the live broadcasts begin.
+ New dances:
In addition to the classic ten dances (modern waltz, Viennese waltz, quickstep, tango, slowfox, cha-cha-cha, rumba, samba, jive, and pasodoble), participants will now compete in modern dance styles such as street, breakdance, and jazz.
There will also be lifts from the start, not in program two or three as before.
+ No orchestra:
In previous years, participants have danced to music from a live orchestra, but it has now been scrapped and the contestants dance to pre-recorded music.
"Let's dance" premieres on March 15.
