The magazine Vi's Taubestipendium goes this year to an artist who in tone and text "conveys hope". Sara Parkman receives the stipend, which was established in collaboration with Evert Taube in 1960.
"For conveying hope with both tone and text, in a constant exploration of the artistic expression's possibilities", writes the jury, which also highlights Sara Parkman's way of blending genres and making unexpected collaborations.
Parkman debuted with the album "Sara Parkman's forest" in 2016 and got her broad breakthrough with the album "Vesper" three years later.
The stipend amount is 50,000 kronor. Among previous stipend recipients are Sofia Jannok, Jason "Timbuktu" Diakité and Annika Norlin.
