Tre high jumpers used shoes in the EM qualifying round that are on a list of banned equipment. Sweden filed a protest and demanded that the final feature 15 jumpers.

According to the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat, Ana Peleteiro, Dariya Derkach and Neja Filipic competed in shoes that are on World Athletics' list of banned equipment in the triple jump.
