Sweden's GDP increased by 0.7 percent in December compared to the previous month, according to preliminary statistics from SCB.
For the entire fourth quarter, the gross national product (GDP) thus increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous quarter. Compared to the corresponding quarter in 2023, Sweden's GDP increased by 1.1 percent, which was roughly in line with economists' expectations according to Bloomberg's forecast compilation.
"The Swedish economy ended 2024 with growth, where stronger development in November and December made up for the decline we saw in October," says Mattias Kain Wyatt, national economist at SCB, in a press release.
