After a four-month journey through space, the little red house with white knots will land and become the first building on the moon's surface.
"The Moon House is a fantastic project, we are extremely happy to be part of finally realizing it. The artwork's vision merges with our own; to expand our planet and future, and extend the human life sphere to space", says Julien-Alexandre Lamamy, CEO of ispace Europe, in a press release.
After the space journey in the lander's cargo hold, the "Moon House" is placed in a sunlit area on the moon's northern hemisphere.
It was 25 years ago that Mikael Genberg got the idea of placing a house on the moon.
"Maybe the first house on the moon can be a symbol for life's eternal strive to survive and develop, move human consciousness and be an eye towards the earth. Isn't a house on the moon exactly what the world needs right now", says Genberg in the press release.
Mikael Genberg has previously placed the Swedish, classic red house with white knots in unusual places such as treetops, on water, underwater, and on the Globe Arena's roof.
