The past few weeks have seen a dispute between The Sweden Democrats and SKMA, where the committee against anti-Semitism has written that Jimmie Åkesson "leads a party that not only has roots in Nazism but also includes a number of representatives at different levels who have expressed anti-Semitism."
The issue became topical in connection with SVT's party leader debate on Sunday, when SD leader Jimmie Åkesson said that SKMA represented "a party political agenda" when the organization pointed out that a number of SD representatives at different levels had expressed anti-Semitism.
On Friday, SD writes on Aftonbladet Debatt that SKMA "ignores our desire for a meeting to clear up any misunderstandings", instead repeating its "attacks" on the party:
"Against this background, we hereby declare that we will from now on regard SKMA as a political actor, whose activities largely consist of influencing public opinion against the cooperation in general, and The Sweden Democrats in particular", write the five SD representatives, including party leader Jimmie Åkesson.
The Liberals' party leader Johan Pehrson has previously said that SKMA is "an important organization that one listens to" and that criticism of SD should not be seen as a party political agenda. This is dismissed by SD:
"On the contrary, no one – especially not representatives of the current government – has any reason to take this organization seriously", write the representatives.
