At Easter, several people who had parked their car on the Asecs parking lot in Jönköping were shocked by demands of up to 15,000 kronor. Now, new invoices have been sent out where the bill has been reduced by 80 percent, reports P4 Jönköping.
The invoices have been criticized by several of those affected, who have disputed the claims, and by players in the parking industry. The center now states to the radio channel that the purpose was never to collect the money, but to deter people from parking in order to prevent fights and disturbances in connection with the annual motor show.
Signs that parking costs 3,000 kronor per hour between 18.30 on Easter eve and 08.00 on Easter day had been put up. But those affected claim that they did not see the signs.
