The Stock Exchange Ended a Negative Week on a Plus

Movements were small on the Stockholm Stock Exchange until Friday's last trading hours, when prices turned upwards. The broad OMXS index closed at a plus of 0.8 per cent.

Among the heavyweights in the OMXS30 index, which rose 0.6 per cent, the investment company Investor and the mining company Boliden performed best, up 2.4 and 2.0 per cent, respectively.

Several industrial companies also rose, including Alfa Laval and Sandvik, up 1.4 and 1.2 per cent, respectively.

At the bottom of the OMXS30 were the telecom company Telia, down 1.6 per cent, and the heat pump manufacturer Nibe, which lost 1.1 per cent.

Indices on the leading European stock exchanges rose, with the DAX index in Frankfurt rising the most, 0.8 per cent.

During the past week, the Stockholm Stock Exchange fell 0.4 per cent, but since the turn of the year, the OMXS has risen 10.4 per cent.
