Now the manufacturer Shahram Soltani is demanding over eight million kronor from the Swedish state when he submits a claim for damages to the Chancellor of Justice (JK).
For us, this is about an important principle. Getting justice against a faulty authority is not worth much if you don't also get compensation for the damage, says Fredrik Bäärnhielm Thorslund, a lawyer at the Centre for Justice, who represents Soltani to SVT.
The conflict goes back to the autumn of 2023 when the National Food Agency banned Soltani from manufacturing and selling the products. Soltani did, however, win in the administrative court, but during that time production came to a standstill and the grapes were destroyed. It is for these that he now wants compensation.
