The Social Democrats want to summon Kristersson to the Defence Committee

The Social Democrats will request that Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) comes to the Defence Committee to answer questions about the national security adviser Henrik Landerholm, who has caused several security incidents. There are many questions that need to be answered, says Peter Hultqvist (S).

Peter Hultqvist, the Chairman of the Defence Committee and defence policy spokesperson for the Social Democrats, will raise the issue at the committee's meeting next Thursday.

I will bring up the issue of summoning the Prime Minister to the Defence Committee to account for the developments regarding Landerholm, says Peter Hultqvist.

There is a degree of carelessness surrounding Landerholm's actions that we do not think is acceptable.

Landerholm forgot documents locked in a cabinet at a conference centre two years ago after an internal conference. According to Dagens Nyheter, it concerned four confidential documents, at least one of which was classified as security-sensitive.

DN has also revealed that Landerholm left a mobile phone at the Hungarian Embassy overnight at the end of 2022 and that a notebook was left behind after an interview on Sveriges Radio in January 2023.

Hultqvist also raises the issue that Kristersson and Landerholm are old friends and that it must be clarified whether this has influenced Kristersson's actions regarding the security adviser.

I would be surprised if other members did not have this interest. We want people to lay their cards on the table, and it should be in everyone's interest.

The Moderate Party's group leader Mattias Karlsson calls it all a game.

"What a bunch of nonsense from S", he says in a comment to TT.

"This is not an issue for the Defence Committee. Games are all the Social Democrats are capable of these days."
