It was in the middle of November that the heavily criticized journal system was introduced in the Västra Götaland region. Only three days later, the region pulled the emergency brake due to, among other things, technical problems and protests from healthcare staff.

The system was to be introduced at the end of March in southeastern Skåne, but is now delayed until after the summer without a specific start date. After the turmoil in the Västra Götaland region, the region will gather experiences from there and address the anxiety that has arisen around the system change.

Skåne's digital healthcare system (SDV) is based on the same system as in Västra Götaland, but they differ in "several crucial ways", according to the press release.

It's about, among other things, handling of medications, laboratory systems, and technical operation of the system, where Skåne has other solutions that we feel secure with, says Harald Roos, medical program manager for SDV, in the press release.
