This year's Mare Kandre Prize goes to the Danish author Rasmus Daugbjerg. It is the first time the prize is awarded to an author from another Nordic country.

Rasmus Daugbjerg has had a major breakthrough with the novel "Troll", which has also been sold in several editions in Sweden. He is currently featured with the novel "Ryktet".

In the jury's motivation, it is emphasized that he in his books "creates a powerful and strange world that is simultaneously both ancient and hypermodern, archaic and innovative".

The Mare Kandre Prize is awarded by the magazine 20-tal in collaboration with the late author Mare Kandre's family.
