The last original member of the classic soul band The Four Tops, Abdul "Duke" Fakir, has passed away, writes Rolling Stone Magazine. He became 88 years old. Abdul Fakir was The Four Tops' first tenor and the last living original member before he passed away at home in Detroit.
The band was formed in the early 1950s in Detroit. In 1956, they changed their name to The Four Tops and became one of the record company Motown's major successes. Among their big hit songs are "Baby, I need your lovin", "Reach out, I'll be there" and "I can't help myself (sugar pie honey bunch)".
