The Government wants to map out the extent of the incorrect payments from the welfare systems. They are now appointing an inquiry to, among other things, find out what the errors are due to.

"We must stop the benefit fraud that amounts to billions annually", says Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (The Moderate Party) in a press release.

The assignment is given to several authorities, including the Social Insurance Agency and the Pensions Agency, and will be coordinated by the National Financial Management Authority.

The authority shall report the assignment no later than March 1, 2027.
