In the beginning of August, the streaming service Spotify raised the price on, among other things, the Swedish market. Now, the company's vice CEO Alex Norström is signaling that more price increases are to be expected as the company develops the service.

Norström says in an interview with Financial Times that price increases are now a ”part of the company's toolbox”.

Until 2021, the price of Spotify had remained unchanged for 12 years. Then, the price of the premium service was raised.

In 2023, the prices for all subscriptions were raised for the first time. This, in combination with large savings packages the same year, led to the company, for the first time, reporting a profit on an annual basis in 2024.
