The European Parliament is getting two new permanent committees. One will work with security and defense, and the other with health.
With 448 votes for and 161 against, the members approved on Wednesday that the two previous subcommittees are spun off from the foreign affairs and environmental committees and upgraded.
Two Swedes are sitting as regular members: Alice Teodorescu Måwe (KD) in the security and defense committee (abbreviated Sede) and Jessica Polfjärd (M) in the health committee (Sant).
Two new temporary committees are also being established: one for the defense of democracy and one for handling the housing crisis.
