In 2015, the then two-year-old Chihuahua Gizmo disappeared from his home in Las Vegas via a broken fence in the garden. Now, he has been found alive and reunited with his owner.
Gizmo, who is now eleven years old, was handed in to an animal hospital where, via a chip, they managed to track down the owner Judith Monarrez and send her an email. Only a few hours later, Gizmo was reunited with his owner, who immediately recognized her Chihuahua, despite his infected eyes, missing teeth, and limp. He still responded to his name, however.
It's a miracle that he was found, and with hindsight, I'm glad I chose to chip him. Now, I'll shower him with all the love I haven't been able to give him over the past nine years, says Judith Monarrez to AP.
