Carlo Barsotti was also an actor, among other things in the films "Amorosa" by Maj Zetterling and Lone Scherfig's "Italian for Beginners", as well as in the TV series "Cleo".
Barsotti came to Sweden in the early 1970s after meeting his future wife Anna during the filming of a commercial.
In addition to translating and staging plays by his good friend Dario Fo, who later received the Nobel Prize in Literature, Barsotti was part of the theater group Narren in the 1970s.
Another great interest was food. Carlo Barsotti was one of the initiators of the Slow Food movement, which wanted to promote an alternative to the emerging fast food trend, and focus more on locally grown ingredients and local restaurant culture.
Carlo Barsotti passed away on November 25.
