On Sunday, the Dance Museum closed its premises in central Stockholm for good. Now the museum is inviting all the cultural policy spokespeople of the parliamentary parties for coffee.

"The Dance Museum is a good example of what many cultural actors and institutions are going through right now. The costs have increased at the same time as the state funding has been frozen, in the Dance Museum's case at the 2018 level", the museum writes in the invitation.

The Dance Museum wants to give politicians stories from the floor and discuss financing, localization, and cultural heritage. Questions one wants to ask are, for example: "what responsibility does your party believe the state has to protect cultural heritage from destruction, plunder, and sale"?

In order to save the operation, the Dance Museum tried to collect ten million kronor by selling special matchboxes for 1,000 kronor each, but now the doors on Drottninggatan have been closed.

The establishment of the Dance Museum at a new location is estimated to take place in 2027 or 2028.
