The American defense department posted an entry on X on Friday where the defense minister Pete Hegseth markets the country's military drone capacity with the help of Metallica's classic song "Enter Sandman" from 1991.

A representative for Metallica immediately contacted the Pentagon and announced that it is a violation of copyright and that ”Enter Sandman” may not be used without permission, according to Rolling Stone.

The Pentagon responded that they had asked the Department of Defense to remove the video. It was later posted again, this time without music.

It is not the first time the US government has used Metallica's music in official contexts. In mid-June, President Donald Trump played a Metallica song during a military parade, which upset many fans.
